What is Hip Pain?
The hip is a ‘ball and socket’ joint which provides a stable yet versatile base for our body to move in a multitude of different directions. This connection supports the link between the legs, spine and upper body to work together to meet the demands of active daily living. Although robust, the hip like other joints in our body is susceptible to being a source of pain. Due to the significant role it plays, common causes of injury include; overload, repetition, trauma or even secondary to other issues like back or knee pain.

What to expect
During your initial appointment at Elements, our physiotherapists will perform a detailed assessment on the hip alongside the surrounding areas to help determine the root cause of your problem. We will consider the potential internal causes such as ligament tears, joint degeneration (osteoarthritis), bursitis, alongside issues that may lay outside of the joint articulation like tendinopathies, muscular strains or weaknesses. The goal for us is to make sure you feel supported on your rehabilitation journey, and help create an environment for your pain to improve as soon as possible.
