Sports Injuries
What is Sports Injuries?
Due to the variety of different sports we play, our body will typically endure a range of different positions, loads and intensities in order to participate in the activities we enjoy. Injuries sustained during sport can be broad in nature, often arising due to several mechanisms such as; jumping, twisting, turning, landing awkwardly, excessive load/impact or simply repetition. Common signs of injury may include; an inability to move, weight bare, swelling, bruising, discoloration and discomfort. The site of pain and associated dysfunction typically gives an indication as to the area that has been affected. There is however a long list of potential causes, ranging from sprains to ligaments, strains to muscle/tendons, contusions (bruising), to even dislocations or fractures.
